A one-day grant writing workshop will be held twice in October at East Central University in Ada.

Participants can choose either Oct. 5 [MONDAY] or Oct. 6 [TUESDAY] to learn how to write winning proposals in the Fundamentals of Grant Proposal Writing workshop. The program will be the same each day.

The deadline for registering is Oct. 2 [FRIDAY] and the cost is $147 per person.

The instructor, Robert Bradley, has conducted workshops for state and national conferences, government agencies, non-profit organizations and universities, including ECU in 2007.

He served as the manager of the Osher Institute of Lifelong Learning, the acting director of Pre-College Programs, and the coordinator of the Faculty Distance/e-Learning Program at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.

Participants can sign in at 8 a.m. The sessions will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m. Topics will range from eliminating common problems and correctly identifying, defining and justifying the need to be addressed, to developing goals, objectives, program development strategies and budget, and writing an abstract and cover letter.

The workshop will be offered by the Office of Sponsored Programs & Research and the Center of Continuing Education & Community Services. For more information, contact Jannason Long at 580-559-5859 or jlong@ecok.edu, or Casie Holloway at 580-559-5632.
