A few openings remain for the trip in May to Russia and Ukraine being organized by East Central University's Study Abroad Program.

Participants will explore three Russian capital cities, Kiev, Ukraine, and Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia, from May 13 to May 31. In addition, the trip offers six hours of academic credit which can be applied to ECU's new Russian studies minor.

Dr. Mara Sukholutskaya, ECU professor of English and languages, will lead the tour. Sites in Kiev will include the catacombs of Lavra, the oldest and holiest Russian monastery, and St. Sophie's Cathedral, ornate with 11th century frescoes and mosaics.

An overnight train ride to Moscow is planned to see the Russian capital's Kremlin treasures, churches and parks, as well as Red Square and St. Basil's Cathedral. Three days in Russia's northern capital of St. Petersburg will conclude the tour.

The cost of the trip, including airfare, train fare, lodging accommodations, all meals, a river cruise and all trips and cultural activities, is about $3,100. Tuition and fees are an additional cost.
