We will be offering 2 hours of CPE for this event. Registration for the CPEs will be $25 and will be handled by Continuing Professional Education in the Department of Continuing Education. Funds earned will go to the School of Business Scholarship Fund.
About the speaker: Michael A. (Mike) Crawford is Chairman Emeritus of Crawford & Associates and has over 32 years of experience working in the practice area of state and local government accounting and auditing. Mike is a Certified Public Accountant and received a bachelor's degree in accounting from East Central University in 1977. Mike is recognized both nationally and internationally as a frequent speaker and professional development instructor and has provided hundreds of professional development training sessions covering nearly every state in the United States and a number of other countries. He has authored or co-authored many publications, including CCH CPAs Guide to Ethics and Professional Conduct.

There is a Dress Code so show up to impress and bring a stack of professional resumes. Dress Code will be no flip flops, t-shirts, shorts, jeans with holes or ripped. We will have door greeters to stop anyone breaking dress code rules.

The Campus Initiative to Reduce Crime Against Women (CIRCAW) would like to invite everyone to this special event. River Huston is coming to give a presentation on alcohol awareness, safer sex and sexual assault. River gives a moving talk about her own experiences with alcohol abuse and surviving sexual assault. She uses her background as a performer to keep things lively and humorous and believes in getting the audience involved in the presentation.
River Huston is an award winning poet, journalist, performer and activist. She travels through the United States speaking on issues related to HIV/AIDS, sexuality, self-esteem, and alcohol abuse. She has a degree in Physical Education and Music from Hunter College and was awarded an honorary Doctorate from Albright College in 1995. River is the author of several books of poetry and was awarded the Dorthea Lange/Paul Taylor award for A Positive Life: Portraits of Women Living with HIV. She is the creator of Goddess: A New Guide to Feminine Wisdom. In 2009 she was awarded the Leeway Transformation Award to honor how her work over the last 20 has had an impact on society. She has been featured on Good Morning America, Showtime, ABC: Up To the Minute, Nightline, and CNN. You can find out more about River Huston at www.riverhuston.com.

Attorney General Campaigns Debate
East Central University is hosting the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce Legislative Lunch. The lunch will feature a debate between the Oklahoma Attorney General campaigns at noon in the ECU Ballroom located in the Memorial Student Union. Jim Priest and Scott Pruitt are the candidates. Lunch will be provided for the audience by the office of ECU’s President John Hargrave. The debate will be moderated by Scott Mitchell, News 9 political analyst and host of "Your Vote Counts."

The workshop will cover the resume section by section by using ECU’s CSO Career Development Resume builder software. Bring any rough draft you have currently and will be something to start out with and build from that framework. An online workbook will be provided to all attendees.
