ECU Cheerleading
About the Program
ECU Cheer Squad ideally consists of about 15 members or less depending on tryouts. The squad performs at ALL home football and basketball games and travels to select away games, and all pep rallies. Mandatory practices are held Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. We do not practice on Holidays. ECU Cheerleaders main purpose is to support our athletic teams and support our school in spirit and pride.
Requirements for 2009 tryouts
You are required to be in good health and physical condition. East Central University cheerleading is physically demanding during tryouts as well as there after. During tryouts you are required to perform the skills in which you will be judged on in a safe and timely manner. You are required to maintain and progress in your skill level after tryouts throughout the school year. If you fail to maintain these physical requirements you may be asked to leave the squad. Throughout the school year, our practices consist of cardio and weight training through out the week as well as our normal cheer, tumbling, and stunting practices. You will be required to jog at least a mile during practices and on days we do not practice. As a supporter of East Central University the cheerleading squad will enter the annual Homecoming 5K in support and spirit of our great University and Teams!!
