The Horace Mann Society Commemorative Brick Campaign
In 2009 it is proposed that a Horace Mann Memorial be established on the campus of East Central University. The memorial will be located in the area of the original Horace Mann building. In order to have adequate funds to build a memorial, donations are sought to establish the memorial and to initiate an endowment fund in the East Central University Foundation which will provide support for the mission of the College of Education and Psychology.
Donors who wish to be recognized as Charter Members of the Horace Mann Society will be signators of the Horace Mann Society Charter upon their donation of $2,500. The funds collected for Charter Membership will be placed in a special account within the ECU Foundation and will be used for memorial projects. All Charter members will have their names inscribed on the memorial.
An area surrounding the memorial will be paved with engraved bricks noting their selected level of Horace Mann Society Membership. All donors of $100 or more will have an engraved brick placed in the walkway leading to, or, surrounding the memorial.
