Welcome to the home page for the East Central University, Psi Chi Organization. This page is maintained by the officers of this organization and monitored by the advisor for the club, Dr. Joanna Harris-Young. This page is designed for you, the visitor, and your input is important. You may also join the Psychology Club, which has no requirements to meet.
The Organization and Purpose
The purpose of Psi Chi, the international honor society in psychology is to encourage, stimulate and maintain excellence in scholarship of the individual members in all fields, particularly in psychology, and to advance the science of Psychology. Specifically, to promote professional psychological attitudes and interests, psychological study and research, and interest in graduate study and other ways of professional growth. Additionally, this academic and service organization is designed to allow students the opportunity to learn more about their chosen profession and allow them to help their university and community in ways that they see fit.
Who is eligible?
Undergraduates who are declared majors or minors in Psych,
Who have completed 3 semesters of college,
Who have 9 semester hours of psychology, and
Who have a 3.0 GPA in Psych courses and cumulative grades.
Also graduate students who have a 3.0 cumulative GPA in all graduate courses.
