The Computer Science Department offered its first degree program in 1982. Since that time, the department has grown to more than 120 "majors", and a "service enrollment" of about 400 each semester.
The emphasis in our program is on Software Engineering. We do not have programs in computer repair, or in utilizing the computer as a tool for commerce. Students usually complete a Bachelor's of Science degree in four years, and typically are employed by large multinational companies who need skilled software design specialists to work on the cutting edge of the field.
We currently employ "three and a quarter" full time faculty members. (The "quarter" is actually a part-time instructor, teaching three courses.) Faculty members of the department are academically active, attending professional meetings and engaging in appropriate research.
Currently, there is no Master's degree program available in the Computer Science Department.
