Family and Consumer Science majors are eligible for membership in the Oklahoma Family and Consumer Sciences Association.
The Student Association of Family and Consumer Sciences
The Student Association of Family and Consumer Sciences seeks to provide professional development activities, socialization opportunities, and recreational pursuits for majors and minors in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. Members may attend the Annual State Meeting of the Oklahoma Association of Family and Consumer Sciences Convention each spring. The annual program of work includes participation in ECU homecoming events, the Eyes of the Child Christmas program, Pesagi Queen contest, the Salvation Army Silver Tea, District and Regional Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America Star Events, fundraising projects, recruitment and support of various campus and civic activities. Co-sponsors of the organization are Betty Townsend and Diana Watson-Maile.

Phi Upsilon Omicron
Phi Upsilon Omicron is a Family and Consumer Sciences national honor society recognizing excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service. The honor society membership is made up of family and consumer sciences students who have completed a minimum of 40 semester hours, a 3.2 overall grade point average, have distinguished themselves of being in the top 35 percent of departmental majors, and exhibit potential for professional leadership. Phi Upsilon Omicron members have the opportunity to attend conclave, apply for scholarships, and awards while being involved in service activities. Phi Upsilon Omicron is co-sponsored by Betty Townsend and Diana Watson-Maile.
