Reasons to Join the ECU STEP Program

Opportunities for conducting undergraduate research in science and mathematics represent an exciting way to enhance your college learning experience at East Central University, while earning money to help meet the costs of college. Students who work with a faculty member on a research project come away with a more "hands-on" practical knowledge of their major, as well as valuable experience that can help land that first job or admission to the graduate school of their choice.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this program, applicants must:

  • Be an underrepresented or minority graduating high school senior
  • Have been admitted to East Central University
  • Have a minimum ACT score of 20, or be admitted alternatively with a requirement to participate in the bridge program
