ECU Musical Ensembles
The Wind Ensemble is a premiere performing ensemble for winds and percussion. Performances by invitation at major conventions include CBDNA, OMEA and other events of note. Repertoire and instrumentation encourage musical growth through challenging music and individual responsibility.
The Symphonic Band performs the standard concert band repertoire and provides experience for student conductors.
The Tiger Marching Band performs at all home football games, travels annually to 1-2 away games. Performances include Disney World/Epcot Center, Foley's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Mexico City, New Orleans, Houston and Branson.
The Pep Band is an ensemble that performs for basketball games, pep rallies and other functions that promote school spirit.
The Jazz Ensemble performs on campus in addition to an annual tour of area high schools. The jazz band provides opportunity for students to grow and mature in jazz performance. The group performs annually at major collegiate competitions including the Wichita Jazz Festival and the Northern Colorado Jazz Festival.
The Instrumental Ensembles consist of a flute ensemble, clarinet ensemble, brass ensemble, percussion ensemble, and several mixed groups. The ensembles give regular performances on campus and at area schools.
The University SIngers are the major choral ensemble on campus performing regularly each semester. The choral repertoire presented by the University Singers is demanding and of the highest quality.
The University Chorale is the highly selective vocal ensemble consisting of approximately thirty singers. Performances include OMEA, ADCA and annual tours of high schools throughout Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and Arkansas.
The Gospel Choir is an ensemble which consists of approximately twenty singers six instrumentalists. The Gospel Choir performs on campus and regularly tours area schools and churches. The Gospel Choir provides opportunity for students to gain experience in the field of Sacred Music.
The Opera Workshop gives regular performances from the standard repertoire each semester.
