Ensembles
ECU Marching Band
Open to all music majors and non-music majors who play a wind or percussion instrument. The ensemble performs for all home football games and in exhibition at various high school marching contests, along with occasional away games, homecoming parade, and pep rallies during the fall semester.
ECU Pep Band
Open to all music majors and non-music majors who play a wind or percussion instrument. The ensemble performs for home basketball games and various other athletic events and pep rallies.
Symphonic Band
Open to all music majors and non-music majors who play a wind or percussion instrument. The ensemble performs twice during the spring semester. Placement is by audition and music includes lighter works along with grade 2-4 concert band literature.
Wind Ensemble
Open to all music majors and non-music majors who play a wind, string, piano, or percussion instrument. The Wind Ensemble is the premiere instrumental ensemble at ECU and performs twice during the spring semester along with going on tour to perform at various high schools in the State and other events as scheduled by the director. Placement is by audition and music includes advanced modern works along with grade 3-5 concert band literature.
Jazz Ensemble
Open to all music majors and non-music majors who play a wind, string, piano, or percussion instrument. The ensemble performs once each semester and various other concerts and tours as scheduled by the director. Instrumentation includes trumpet, flugel horn, trombone, saxes, piano, string bass, bass guitar, regular guitar, trap set, and vibes.
