Undergraduate Programs
The
following are undergraduate programs offered by East Central
University.Bachelor of General Studies
This program is designed for
non-traditional students who completed a substantial amount
of undergraduate work but chose not to complete their
previous college major. The BGS program permits students to
combine prior college work with a minimum of four core
courses (12 hours).
Bachelor of Science in
Nursing - Fast Track
This program allows an
associate degreed registered nurse to complete the nursing
courses for the BSN in one calendar year. Other course work
may be required. (Available in McAlester, Ardmore, Durant,
Idabel, and Talihina)
Bachelor of Arts in Human
Services Counseling
The primary objective of this
program is to prepare students for beginning human services
positions in a variety of government, civic, and private
agencies and organizations. (Available in McAlester and
Ardmore)
Bachelor of Science in
Social Work
The primary objective of the
Social Work degree is to prepare students to enter social
work practice at the beginning professional level following
graduation. (Available in McAlester)
Criminal Justice Program
The primary objective of the
Criminal Justice degree is to prepare students for beginning
professional jobs in the criminal justice system. Students
gain practical experience through completion of an
internship or for those seeking CLEET certification, the
Collegiate Officer Program. (Available in Ardmore &
McAlester)
Psychology
Selected courses in
this field are offered at McAlester, Ardmore, and Shawnee.
