Welcome to my East Central University Web Page. This site is designed to provide information about myself and our department. As chair of the Human Resources Department, I oversee six undergraduate programs: Social Work, Criminal Justice and Human Services Counseling with concentrations in Rehabilitation, Aging Services and Services to the Deaf. Also, we have a graduate program, Masters of Science in Human Resources with four options: Counselor, Criminal Justice, Human Resources Administration, and Rehabilitation Counselor. All of our programs are offered on our main campus in Ada, with some being offered at our Ardmore, McAlester, and Shawnee off-campus sites. Our department is one of the most exciting and dynamic combinations of helping professionals on campus. We are truly a multidiscipline department. In addition to my administrative responsibilities I still maintain teaching responsibilities which I enjoy tremendously. I have taught primarily in the Social Work Program with responsibility for the social welfare policy, research and internship curriculum content. Recently I began teaching a graduate research course and the practicum class for the administration graduate students. Professionally, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a member of the National Association of Social Workers. As participants in the Child Welfare Professional Enhancement Program, I am a clinical consultant for OKDHS Child Welfare supervisors. I also provide critical incident stress debriefing for child welfare workers throughout the state. These professional experiences aid in keeping my class content relevant for the students. I am a strong advocate for keeping a balance in life and engaging in activities that have nothing to do with work; but are fun! I enjoy time with my family and friends, and the travels we take. Golf, tennis, and exercising give me the energy to stay active. I never turn down a movie if the popcorn is fresh and the soda is cold!
