These are Federal and State grants available to qualified students having substantial financial need. Grants do not need to be repaid. Loans come in several different types, and all must be repaid. Loans require an entrance interview prior to disbursement of funds and an exit interview prior to graduating, leaving school or dropping below half-time. You must repay loans even if you do not complete your education, are not able to get a job after you complete the program or are dissatisfied with the education for which you paid. Federal work study means you are employed by ECU and are paid through a work study budget. You must be eligible to be a part of work study.
