Letter from Director Phyllis Danley

Hello to all Foundation friends! This has been a great year to participate in the life of the University and its faculty, staff, and students. There has been a plethora (one of my favorite words!) of activities in which the Foundation has played a major role, such as supporting students with new and existing scholarships, providing funds for the string players in ECU's production of "The Marriage of Figaro," assisting with the ECU Presidential Inauguration, and partnering with ECU to construct a new School of Business/Conference Center, to name a very few.

A special thanks goes to the Executive Committee and the Chair of the Board of Trustees, Frankie Crawford. It has been a year of changes on all fronts, and Frankie has maintained his cool and his great sense of humor throughout the process. Bill Thrash, incoming chair, will be nothing but an asset for the Foundation, and I look forward to working with him during the next year. Thanks also to the committees who have worked extensively on projects ranging from new scholarships to policy composition to audit assistance-you have paved the way for the Foundation's next 40 years!

I began working with ECU's Advancement and Alumni staff members in February of this past year, and their assistance and advice has been unparalleled-they are full of energy and momentum, and want only the best for this University. With combined resources and talents, we are able to focus on the same goal: the "advancement" of East Central University!

Thanks to all of you who have made the Foundation what it was yesterday, is today, and will be tomorrow.
