Welcome to the History Program
The Department of History provides the building blocks for success in the modern world: critical thinking skills and communication skills.
Careers in teaching, law, government service, and business all require the development of these two important skills.
The Department of History offers a strong core curriculum providing students with basic information about Western Civilization and American history. In upper division courses students can develop a program tailored to their interests, but all students take at least one course in world history, one course in American history, and one course in European history.
