Human Resources
The primary
objective of the Human Services Counseling degree is to prepare students for
beginning human services positions in a variety of government, civic, and
private agencies and organizations. These agencies focus on the needs of
people experiencing physical or mental problems, drug or alcohol abuse,
aging related concerns, and job-seeking problems. Client groups to be served
range from youth and minorities to those in crisis situations. To prepare
students for a variety of employment opportunities, the Human Services
Counseling curriculum provides the knowledge and skills needed for
prevention and problem solving with both individuals and groups.
