ECU Dance Program
Welcome and thank you for your interest in the ECU dance program.
The following information has been provided to familiarize and assist you
regarding the unique aspects of our program. We hope you find the

The East Central University Dance program offers a minor in dance education.
The program is housed within the School of Education under Communication. Our program supports a strong emphasis in
modern dance tradition with students receiving training in varied dance
disciplines. The faculty is committed to high standards and the development
of future dance educators and/or performers.
ECU dance minors may pursue a focus in the following areas: Dance
Education/Recreation, and Dance Performance. Each of these concentrations
has been designed to support various bachelor programs, for example; Dance
Education/Recreation would support such majors as Communication Education, Early
Childhood and Elementary Education, Exercise Science, Music Education,
Communications/Theatre, etc.
