Linscheid Library
Community Library Patrons Policy

The Linscheid Library is open to the public, and Oklahoma residents age 16 and over are eligible to apply for community patron library cards. A parent or guardian must sign for residents under the age of 18. Patrons may complete an application at the library’s circulation desk. An Oklahoma driver’s license or state issued ID is required to obtain a card. Once the application is approved, the yellow copy is given to the patron to be taken to the Information Desk in the University Center. The Information Desk will issue the community patron library card. A fee is assessed for the card. Community patron library cards are not issued on weekends. Borrowing privileges are valid for one year and may be renewed, at no cost, at the discretion of the library.

Community patrons are allowed to have up to 10 items checked out at one time. The loan period for materials is 2 weeks. One renewal for an additional 2 weeks is allowed. The due date for a renewed item is calculated from the original due date. Overdue items and items with holds cannot be renewed.

If an ECU student or faculty member places a hold on a book, it will be recalled. Recalled items should be returned within 3 days.

Community library patrons are not allowed to check out materials if they have any overdue items or have not returned a recalled item.

Reference materials, periodicals, and microforms must be used in the library.

Interlibrary loan services are not available for community library patrons.
