The Spring 2000 meeting of SIGALO was held at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.  Marty Thompson, their director, welcomed the group.  Unfortunately, Judith Wilkerson was unable to attend due to recent surgery on her knee.

Dana Belcher, who had prepared to moderate the round table discussion Automated Duplicate Exchange - Kudos or Rants?, was unable to attend due to her father's serious illness.  Dana had prepared a web page comparing manual versus automated duplicate exchange.  She also included descriptions and hot links to several online vendors.  Starla Doescher showed the audience Dana's web site and then opened up the discussion.  Dana's colleague from ECU, Jeannine Hathcoat, started things off with a description of the success they have had using Backserv.

Starla Doescher chaired the business meeting and announced that she and Judith Rigsby would be completing their terms on the planning committee with this meeting.  Junie Janzen from OBU and Wanda Donica from Southeastern have agreed to fill the vacancies.

Starla requested suggestions for topics for the next meeting.  Barbara Bradley said that a colleague from OSU who had recently attended a workshop on CONSER has developed a presentation and would be willing to provide it for our group.  Other suggestions for topics and/or round table discussions were; 1) policy and procedure manuals, 2) electronic journals - do we cancel other formats when we add electronic?- what are the easiest ways to access electronic journals?

Junie Janzen volunteered OBU as our site for the Fall meeting.

Starla announced that Dana Belcher would be taking over the maintenance of the membership list and thanked Judith Rigsby for her past work on this job.

After lunch we reconvened for tours of the Oklahoma Department of Libraries.  Gary Phillips and several of his colleagues provided tours throughout their operations.  These included Oklahoma Publications Clearinghouse, Archives, the Oklahoma Room, Reference and Interlibrary Loan, and the Literary Resource Office.
