Nancy Jurney, Serials Librarian, welcomed the group to Langston University. She then introduced Beverly Dowdy (UCO) and Judy Wilkerson (OUHSC) who presented The Journal Science Full-Text on EBSCO, Highwire Press, Gale Group, and OVID.  The research process was presented, and currency, completeness of content, navigation, and added features were discussed.  InfoTrac came in last on currency, and Highwire surpassed the print by 2 weeks.  Beverly liked Highwire the best since you can still get free full-text without being a member.  Judy preferred OVID due to it's ease of use and navigation.

Dana Belcher, outgoing program chair, began the business meeting by asking for volunteers for the program team.  Beverly Dowdy (UCO), Michael S. Kim (OSU), and Marla Roberson (OSU-OKC) accepted the vacant positions.  Nancy Jurney remains on the team for another year.  Dana mentioned NASIG's upcoming conference.  OKULS was also mentioned.  This is the coordinator's final year.  Dana Belcher will remain the webmaster/records keeper for SIGALO.

The afternoon presentation was given by Linda Taylor (OSU) and Dana Belcher (ECU), The Oklahoma Union List of Serials (OKULS):  What It Is and What It Can Do For You.  This was a preview of a workshop being presented at the next OLA conference.  Linda discussed choosing the correct OCLC serial record for attaching local data records.  In some cases, the OCLC record for the LDR may not be the same record you choose to use in your catalog.  Dana Belcher then gave a brief presentation on why to attach local data records and how.

The meeting adjourned for tours of the Langston University library and the Melvin B. Tolson Black Heritage Center.
