 OKULS Business meeting

bulletCalled to order at 10:00 a.m.
bulletApproved minutes from last meeting.
bulletMoney about the same as last year, and no upcoming major expenses.
bulletDana’s report – handed out statistics.
bulletNo old or new business
bulletIla Coffman is the new OKULS chair.  OKULS planning committee includes Pauline Rodriguez-Atkins, Co-Ming Chan, Dana Belcher, Beverly Dowdy, Cheryl Suttles.  Kitty Pittman and Susan McVey are ODL liaisons.

SIGALO Business meeting

bulletCalled to order at 10:20 a.m.
bulletLinda Taylor reported on SCCTP workshops.
bulletApril 24th – Lisa Furubotten presented an LC workshop on metadata standards and their effect on AACR2, as well as other related issues.
bulletMichael Kim (in absentia) requested input on future programs and requested that the planning committee for SCCTP workshops change from an ad hoc to a regular committee.
bulletDana Belcher moved that we create a permanent continuing education committee.  Ila Coffman seconded.  Discussion regarding the committee’s ability to plan other workshops than the SCCTP workshops and regarding how to handle money from the workshops.  Recommended that we come up with a way to handle money, including possibly establishing a treasurer, non-profit status, and opening a checking account for SIGALO.  Suggested that Michael look into this.  Janet Hughes and Dana Belcher will help with that. 
bulletProgram committee
bulletMichele Seikel is chair this year.  Harriett Hobbs and MaryGrace Berkowitz are returning members.  New members who volunteered at this meeting include J. J. Compton, Nancy Jurney, and Dana Belcher.  Cycling off the committee are Linda Taylor, Dona Davidson, and Sarah Simpson.
bulletDiscussed topics for Fall meeting:
bulletPlan A – Discuss the new CONSER core record.
bulletPlan B – Periodical usage schemes – vendor statistics (CounterCompliance – Beverly Dowdy)
bulletAlso suggested – sharing long-term access to journals (archiving, i.e. CLOCKSS – “Lots of copies keeps stuff safe”); Edifact.
bulletDana recommended everyone check their contact information on the OKULS and SIGALO web site to make sure it is up to date. 
bulletMeeting adjourned at 10:50
