The Fall 1999 meeting of SIGALO was held at East Central University in Ada.  Dana Belcher welcomed the group to ECU.  The morning roundtable discussion took place in the Regents Room.

Dana Belcher introduced Barbara Bradley, Serials Acquisitions Librarian for OSU's Edmon Low Library.  Barbara shared OSU's "coping" mechanisms for the rise in costs of journal subscriptions.  Barbara then gave the floor to all participates to relate their experiences.

Starla Doescher Chaired the business meeting.  She requested volunteers to host the Spring meeting and for ideas for upcoming programs.  Judith Wilkerson said she would check into the availability of the new networked auditorium at OU's Health Sciences Library.  Starla mentioned the passing of Martha Woltz, a long-time participate of SIGALO.  Starla noted Jim Wilkerson's (Southwestern) retirement and the fact that we would be having a party for him during the afternoon break.  Unfortunately, Jim wasn't in attendance.

Judith Wilkerson announced that Colleen Ward, one of the founding members of SIGALO, has not retired.  She is available for projects.  Lunch was "on your own".

The afternoon workshop was held in the Administration computer lab.  Lori Mardis, BI/ILL Librarian and ECU Webmaster, gave a hands on presentation on how to create webpages using Netscape Composer.  Dana Belcher, Periodicals/Acquisitions Librarian related her experience on making webpages and showed her departmental pages.  After the workshop, we adjourned the formal meeting and enjoyed Jim's retirement party and tours of the Linscheid Library.
