Minimum Total Hours 18
The minimum requirements for teaching music with the minor are at least six
hours in each area to be taught: Theory; Appreciation; Piano. MUS 1133
should be taken no later than the beginning of the sophomore year. The
Proficiency Test in Piano must be taken at the end of the sophomore year or
its equivalent; transfer students must take it during their first week of
classes at ECU. Re-examination will be permitted, but the test must be
passed before the senior year.
