Honor Graduate Recognition Ceremony
The Honor Graduate Recognition Ceremony will be held at 8:00 a.m. on graduation morning, May 12, 2012 in the Stanley P. Wagner Ballroom located inside the Memorial Student Union.
This ceremony, hosted by the Alpha Chi National Honor Scholarship Society, recognizes all students graduating with academic honors from ECU. Students should arrive dressed in their caps and gowns by 7:45 a.m. Sponsors from each of the academic honor societies and the director of the University Scholastic Honors Program will be present to formally award academic regalia, such as honor cords, medallions, or stoles, as student's individual names are called. Family members are welcome to attend.
After the ceremony, an opportunity for photos is available. The ceremony will conclude in time for students to report for morning graduation at 9:15 a.m. Students should consult with their individual honor society, not the Alpha Chi sponsor, to make sure their graduation regalia has been ordered and to make sure they are included in the ceremony.
For more information about this ceremony, please contact your honor society sponsor, the Honors Program director, Dr. Trisha Yarbrough, University Honors Center at (580) 559-5877 or trisha.yarbrough@ecok.edu or the Alpha Chi sponsor, Dr. Christine Pappas, Department of Political Science at (580) 559-5640 or cpappas@ecok.edu.
