Accident / Serious Injury / Illness

Definition

Emergency- where one or many are sick or injured. Immediate concern is to aid the injured or sick person(s).

Steps of Action

  1. Contact Campus Police 332-3875 or Ext.555 and stay with the sick or injured.
  2. Contact University Nurse 559-5713.
  3. If a person trained in first aid is available, use as appropriate.

PERSONNEL ROLES

First Responder: Administer First Aid.

Nurse: Supervise care of persons(s).

Secretary: Contact emergency services if directed by the officer on the scene.

Faculty: Assign someone to stay with student(s), assess first aid needs, take roll.
