NURSING (Instructor or Assistant Professor, non-tenure or tenure track, if eligible )
East Central University is a student-centered, regional four-year state university located in Ada, Oklahoma, and has an enrollment of over 4,500 students. ECU offers 35 baccalaureate programs and eight masters programs. ECU is committed to teaching excellence, both on campus and through distant education.
RESPONSIBILITIES: ECU is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed master's degree-prepared nurse for a full-time nursing faculty position. Applicants would be responsible for teaching in the classroom and clinical areas; advising students; participating in department and professional activities; and, serving on committees. Professional level verbal and written communication skills are required. This 10-month position requires a person whose current professional background is medical-surgical nursing with ICU experience. Faculty in ECU's Department of Nursing are expected to maintain expertise and clinical competence in their teaching area and comply with the applicable Oklahoma Board of Nursing and National League for Nursing rules and guidelines. Financial assistance for doctoral education available.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum requirement is a Master's degree in nursing and a minimum of two years of current clinical practice as a Registered Nurse with medical-surgical and ICU experience. Teaching experience preferred. The applicant shall hold a current valid Oklahoma license to practice as a Registered Nurse. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
