UNITED STATES HISTORY
East Central University (ECU) is a student--centered regional state university located in Ada, Oklahoma. ECU offers thirty-five undergraduate baccalaureate degree programs in arts and letters, business, education, mathematics and sciences, nursing and the social sciences; and nine master's degrees in education, human resources, and psychology. ECU's 4,600 students come from 24 countries and 25 states. About 70% of the 165 faculty hold doctorates.
The Department of History and Native American Studies seeks qualified applicants for the position of tenure-track Assistant Professor of History beginning August 2010. Qualified candidates will hold an earned PhD in History; ABD may be considered.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach twelve hours per semester, plus student advising and committee work. Areas include survey courses in American History and at the upper level some ombination of courses in Native American, Women=s, and Oklahoma History. Other upper level fields may be considered.
