CRIMINAL JUSTICE POSITION
the Department of Human Resources of East Central University invites applications for a full-time position in Criminal Justice at either the Instructor level (non-tenure track) or the Assistant Professor level (tenure track). Starting date could be Fall semester August 2013.
East Central University (ECU) is a student-centered regional state university located in Ada, Oklahoma. ECU offers thirty-three undergraduate baccalaureate degree programs in arts and letters, business, education, mathematics and sciences, nursing, and the social sciences. Nine master's degrees are offered in education, human resources, psychology, and accounting. ECU's 4,800 students come from 40 countries and 35 different states. About 65% of the 172 faculty members hold doctorates.
Duties include: This position is for a generalist in the area of Criminal Justice. Primary responsibilities will include teaching a variety of courses within the program’s three undergraduate concentrations: Law Enforcement, Juvenile Justice, and Adult Corrections; and some limited teaching in the program’s master’s concentration. Responsibilities will also include student advisement, university service, and professional/scholarly contributions.
Qualifications include: A Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or Criminology or a related field is required. A doctorate degree is highly preferred. Strong candidates will have evidence of successful teaching, scholarly activity, and professional accomplishments commensurate with experience. Applied experience in the field of Criminal Justice is highly valued.
