ASSISTANT PROFESSOR AND DIRECTOR OF LEGAL STUDIES
East Central University (ECU) is a student--centered regional state university located in Ada, Oklahoma. ECU offers thirty-five undergraduate baccalaureate degree programs in arts and letters, business, education, mathematics and sciences, nursing and the social sciences; and nine master's degrees in education, human resources, and psychology. ECU's 4,600 students come from 24 countries and 25 states. About 70% of the 165 faculty hold doctorates.
The Department of Political Science and Legal Studies seeks qualified applicants for the position of tenure-track Director and Assistant Professor of Legal Studies beginning August 2010.
DUTIES:
Teach courses in Introduction to Law, Legal Research and Writing, Legal Ethics, Constitutional Law, U.S. Government and other Political Science or Legal Studies courses. Direct the American Bar Association approved Legal Studies program which includes: maintain ABA compliance for the Legal Studies program, supervise adjunct faculty for specialty law courses, advise program majors and supervise internships.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidates will hold a J.D. from an accredited law school; Oklahoma Bar certification preferred; 5-years experience in legal practice or work in a law-related environment preferred; college-level teaching experience preferred.
