BS - Athletic Training

East Central University will be voluntarily withdrawing its Athletic Training Program from CAATE Accreditation and will no longer be taking applicants to the Athletic Training Program.

The Athletic Training Program will graduate its current Senior and Junior cohorts and will officially close August 1, 2018.

All current athletic training majors will need to arrange a meeting with the Program Director as soon as possible.

Program CAATE Accreditation Status: Probation

"East Central University Athletic Training Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).  The program has been placed on Probation as of February 19, 2016 by the CAATE, 6850 Austin Center Blvd., Suite 100, Austin, TX 78731-3101."

The program has been placed on probation due to Standard 11: First Time Pass Rate.

Standard 11

  • The first time pass rate must be 70%, currently ECU's first time pass rate is 58%
