The Masters of Library Media is designed for graduate students planning to become a School Library Media Specialist in grades PK-12 in public or private educational settings. The intent of the program is to prepare competent, certified School Library Media Specialists in accordance with the state and national professional standards and guidelines. All areas of school librarianship, including technology, are emphasized. Special attention is given to the development of the student as a consumer of research along with a major emphasis on the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that are necessary to become a School Library Media Specialist.

This program is offered completely online!

The ECU Library Media program is fully-online and accredited by NCATE.  Program completers must hold a valid standard Oklahoma teaching certificate in an approved area and pass the Oklahoma Subject Area Test (OSAT) for School Library Media Specialists to become a certified Library Media Specialist in the state of Oklahoma.

Financial Aid Regulations for Graduate Students

Students, please be advised that the courses you choose to enroll in MUST be a required course or an elective course in your degree program. Financial Aid regulations dictate that any graduate student who is seeking financial aid must be enrolled in AT LEAST five (5) credit hours during the fall, spring, or summer semester and the courses MUST be in the degree program.

*Certificate Programs do not qualify for financial aid.
