The Position: The Mass Communication program at East Central University invites applications for Instructor/Assistant Professor in Advertising/Public Relations. The successful applicant will teach advertising and public relations courses as well as Introduction to Media Studies, Media Ethics & Law and related courses as necessary. The candidate must have a broad range of social and digital media knowledge and experience.
The Mass Communication program seeks a candidate whose teaching style supports a diverse student body, including non-traditional students, and the ability to teach to different learning styles. In addition, the candidate will be asked to be an active participant in department meetings, student advisement, and service to the university and community through committee work. The candidate is also expected to continue research, publications and/or exhibitions. Additional duties may be required as needed.
Qualifications: An earned doctorate in advertising, public relations or related field is preferred. ABD and Master's degree in advertising, public relations or related field considered. College-level experience teaching in all aspects of advertising, public relations and/or professional experience in ad/PR related areas required.
