ECU is a student-centered regional state university located in Ada, Oklahoma.  ECU offers thirty-three undergraduate baccalaureate degree programs in arts, business, education, mathematics, sciences, nursing, and the social sciences; and six master's degrees in accounting, education, human resources, psychology, management, and water resources. ECU's 4,200 (average) students come from 35 countries and 22 different states.  About 65% of the 147 full-time faculty hold doctorates.

Nursing Clinical Instructor Responsibilities: Activities required of  a full-time clinical instructor in the School ofNursing include 1) exemplary clinical teaching; 2) supervising clinical students, 3) completing formative and summative student evaluations and end-of-the-semester  evaluation of clinical facilities ; 4) communicating with Course Coordinators on at least a weekly basis, including participation in orientation sessions; 5) evaluating clinical papers per rubric and proving feedback to students in a timely manner; 6) maintaining effective relationships with clinical facilities personnel; 7) using the course syllabus and clinical objectives to guide clinical learning activities; 8) following ECU School of Nursing policies for clinical instructors; e.g., dress code, clinical time frame; conferring with the Course Coordinator and/or Program Coordinator as indicated if student issues arise; 9) ensuring that students are receiving optimal learning experiences; and 10) performing teaching responsibilities within ECU's guidelines, professional and ethical parameters.

Specific Teaching Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate clinical courses in nursing. (27 faculty load hours per year)

Qualifications:

Required:  Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program and two years, full-time practice as a registered nurse in a clinical setting.  Must have an unencumbered RN license in Oklahoma, or the ability to get obtain one before start date.

Preferred:  Medical-surgical/critical care, psychiatric and community health experience or experience in other nursing specialty areas.  Experience with college-level clinical teaching preferred .  A demonstrated commitment to outstanding teaching;  excellent oral and written communication skills;   the demonstrated ability to utilize clinical  technology;  and a commitment to quality improvement.
