Thomas W. Lanis, PhD, is the Oscar L. Parker Professor of Business at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, where he directs the Oscar L. Parker Center for the Advancement of Ethical Standards in Business and Society. He earned his PhD, MBA, and B.S. degrees from Oklahoma State University. Dr. Lanis primarily teaches advanced marketing courses such as Professional Selling, Marketing Research, and Promotional Policy in Marketing. He also teaches the introductory course Principles of Management.
Prior to entering academia, Dr. Lanis worked in industry for more than 10 years. His experience includes banking and financial services marketing, marketing research, and commercial product marketing and sales. Dr. Lanis continues to work with businesses, providing management and marketing consulting to a wide variety of companies and industries. He also is an associate with Hanzon Solutions™, a Chicago-based consulting firm.
Dr. Lanis’s research focus is the areas of marketing education and training, personal selling and sales management, mobile marketing, and social issues in marketing. He regularly presents his work at conferences and has published his research in respected journals.
