BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS / BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY: The Business Administration Department at East Central University (ECU) invites applications for a full-time position (tenure track) in Business with rank negotiable beginning Fall 2014. The Business Administration Department offers an undergraduate program with concentrations in entrepreneurship, finance, general business, marketing, management and management information systems. The department resides in the Stonecipher School of Business.
ECU is a student-centered regional state university located in Ada, Oklahoma. ECU offers thirty-four undergraduate baccalaureate degree programs in arts and letters, business, education, mathematics and sciences, nursing, and the social sciences. Eight master's degrees are offered in education, human resources, psychology, and accounting. ECU's 4,800 students come from 32 countries and 28 different states. About 65% of the 172 faculty members hold doctorates.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will teach undergraduate business communications and computer business applications courses. Non-teaching duties include departmental and university committee assignments and student advising. A commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarly activity and professional service is expected. Successful candidates will have the potential to collaborate with students and faculty across disciplines and become involved with the local business community, student internships/research, and a high-performing chapter of ENACTUS (formerly Students in Free Enterprise). Additional academic service includes supporting the enhancement of the visibility of the business program by conducting cross-disciplinary and community programs promoting the business program.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have (1) a doctorate in Business Education with an emphasis in business communication, technical writing or related field or (2) a master degree in business communication or a related field. Candidates with previous university teaching experience or equivalent professional experience are preferred.
