University Police

Mission Statement
The mission of the East Central University Police Department is to maintain the public peace and safety and to safeguard the assets of the institution and its faculty, staff, students and visitors and to assist in providing an environment conducive to the teaching, research and public service mission of the University.  As part of this mission it is the responsibility of the East Central University Police Department to enforce all University regulations and state, local and federal laws.

Staff
The East Central University Police Department provides uniformed state-certified police officers for enforcement of local, state and federal laws 24 hours per day.  Officers are available to students or employees needing access to buildings or residences after hours upon request and presentation of proper identification.  Around-the-clock car and foot patrol is maintained on campus property.

No-Tolerance
A no-tolerance policy on alcohol and drugs is upheld on all East Central University property. All local, state and federal laws will be enforced by the East Central University Police Department.

Drug/Alcohol Counseling
East Central University has referral counseling on drug and alcohol abuse available to employees and students.  Informational programs on drug and alcohol abuse are offered for any student groups or employees.

Safety Seminars
Seminars and programs on self-protection, safety precautions, rape and personal property theft prevention are available to any student, student group or employee of East Central University.
