ARLIE DANIEL TO BE PROFILED IN 'WHO'S WHO IN THE WORLD'

Dr. Arlie Daniel, professor of communication at East Central University, has been selected for inclusion in the 2008 edition of the biographical directory "Who's Who in the World." 

Daniel, who taught high school for nine years before coming to ECU in 1981, has won three awards for teaching excellence, the Central States Young Teacher Award in 1985, the ECU Teaching Excellence Award in 1995 and the Linscheid Distinguished Teaching Award in 2006.

He has been president and executive director of both the Oklahoma Speech Theatre Communication Association and the Central States Communication Association.

Daniel has been president of the Ada Rotary Club and served on the District Leadership Team for several years as the chair of the Interact Committee and chair of the Rotaract Committee.

He also served on several committees at the national level to establish standards and competencies for speaking, listening and media literacy for students from kindergarten to grade 12. He helped write two books for teachers to show them how to teach the standards and competencies.

Daniel also is the co-author of "Project Text for Public Speaking" and has presented at numerous state, regional and national conventions.

Beginning with the First Edition of Who's Who in America published in 1899, Marquis Who's Who has chronicled the lives of the most accomplished individuals from significant fields of endeavor, including business, politics, medicine, science, law, education, art, religion and entertainment. Its directories provide essential biographical information for thousands of researchers, journalists, librarians and executive search firms around the world.
