Area residents can enjoy a memorable evening during the holidays by participating in a Christmas Tour of Homes from 5 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 7 [MONDAY].

Participants will be able to tour four beautiful homes in the Ada area and enjoy refreshments at East Central University's Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center provided by Ada High School's ProStart culinary arts students.

The tour will feature the homes of Steve and Jeanetta Bagwell, 115 E. Kings Road; Tom and Charlee Lanis, 530 S. Highland; Michael and Allyson McElroy, 13691 CR 3520; and Bart and Shannon Reed, 211 W. Kings Road.

Two ticket options are available: $10 for the tour only or $15 for the tour with transportation provided. For those wanting transportation, buses will leave at 5:15 p.m. from the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center and take participants to each home. Others may tour the homes in any order between 5 and 8 p.m.

Tickets are on sale at the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce, 209 W. Main, Arvest Bank, 930 N. Country Club, or by calling East Central University at 559-5873.

Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the children of Ada through Project Invest, a program of ECU's Child Care Resource & Referral Agency and Smart Start South Central designed to increase community awareness and support of local child care programs.

In Ada, 26 child care centers and family child care homes care for approximately 1,000 children each day while their parents work or attend school, said Cheryl Bell, coordinator of the CCRRA. Funds raised from the tour will be used to provide grants to enhance the early learning experiences for Ada's youngest citizens.
