Miss Oklahoma Georgia Frazier will serve as the grand marshal of East Central University’s 2015 Homecoming Parade, which is set for Saturday at noon along Main Street in Ada.

The parade is one of many activities on tap for the weekend. Those attending ECU’s Homecoming festivities can keep up-to-date on activities throughout the weekend on the ECU Tiger Homecoming Facebook Page.

Frazier was crowned Miss Oklahoma 2015 in June and was a top-10 finalist for Miss America 2016. She received awards for lifestyle and fitness and interview, besides being recognized for her community service.

“Once Upon a Time in Tigerland” is the theme for this year’s ECU homecoming as various activities have taken place this week with a bulk of the festivities set for Saturday.

Saturday’s day-long festivities, besides the parade, include the 5-kilometer Tiger Run at 8 a.m. at Wintersmith Park in Ada, Golden Tiger Brunch at 9:30 a.m. in the ECU Foundation Hall of the Chickasaw Business and Conference Center, football game against Arkansas-Monticello at 4 p.m. and alumni social at 8 p.m. at the Oak Hills Country Club in Ada.  At least 12 events are scheduled for Saturday.

At halftime of Saturday’s football game, the homecoming court will be presented as the queen and king will be announced. Also, Tom Darter will receive the annual Milam Award as a former ECU football player who has distinguished himself in his chosen career path. Alumni band members will perform the fight song with the current Pride of Tigerland band.

Friday’s big event is the Annual Alumni Golf Tournament at the Oak Hills Golf and Country Club. A hamburger lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. to the participants for free and others for $10. The actual golf competition will begin at 1 p.m.
