ADA – Prescription Drug Abuse: Crisis in Oklahoma will be the topic of discussion as East Central University and the Brandon Whitten Institute for Addiction and Recovery hosts a workshop on Friday, July 11, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Estep Auditorium of the Bill S. Cole University Center.

The workshop, conducted by Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Director Darrell Weaver, will focus on prescription drug abuse, common drugs of abuse, the prescription monitoring program and laws regarding prescription drugs.

The cost for the workshop is $30, but with the early bird discount online the cost is $20. Please use code: 10OFF when registering online to get the $10 discount. The workshop is only $10 for ECU students with a valid identification. Proceeds from the workshop will benefit the STAND (Students Taking a New Direction) Coalition.

Continuing Education Units (1.5 hours) have been approved for LPC, LMFT, LCSW, CADC, LADC, Certified Prevention Specialists and Law Enforcement CLEET hours.
