REGISTRATION OPEN FOR ECU’S 2017 OKLAHOMA BUSINESS WEEK
In an effort to inspire business leaders of tomorrow, East Central University will conduct its annual Oklahoma Business Week, June 4-8.
The week-long, award-winning summer camp is for high school students, grades 9-12, to gain a first-hand experience in the world of business. The event includes business simulations, competitions, prizes and college scholarships.
Those high school students wishing to participate may take advantage of the early registration of $150 until March 2. The regular registration deadline is April 2 at $175 and the late deadline fee is $200 by May 4.
Among the prizes are scholarships, laptops, Bluetooth speakers and headphones.
Some of the comments from past student participants include:
*“I learned things I will need to know about life,” said Brooke from Stonewall.
*“School isn’t as hands on. You wouldn’t be able to pull as much information or experience from a textbook,” said Autumn from Stratford.
*“I was able to use a simulation to help further my understanding of how a business or company should run,” said Lauren from Edmond.
*“I learned communication skills and how to work in a team environment. My knowledge of the business world has greatly improved,” said Alyssa from Broken Arrow.
*“I was able to talk to people from all over the state who are generally sincere in their wanting to work together and contribute. This has led to me developing many strong and useful bonds with influential people,” said Dillon from Lone Grove.
*“Overall a 10 out of 10. I would recommend this camp to anyone who has ever thought about attending school as a business major,” said Trevor from Stratford.
*“I loved the experience of OBW and I hope for it to grow as well as keep helping students…as the motto says, ‘inspiring business leaders of tomorrow,” said Vincent from Tecumseh.
