The East Central University Chorale and the University Singers will premier three works by local composers at their concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday [APRIL 19] at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

The University Chorale will present the first performance of "O Holy Spirit" by Victoria Davison and Rudy Lupinski, Ada composers who have collaborated on many pieces that have been premiered by the ECU groups.

The Chorale also will premier "Glory to God" by Phillip Berryhill, and the University Singers will premier his "I Would Live." Berryhill is a graduate of ECU who works for the Chickasaw Nation and performs with both groups.

Also on the Chorale's program is "This is the Body and Blood of Christ" and "Trust in the Lord" by Davison and Lupinski, "Earth Song" by Frank Ticheli, "Si ch'io vorrei morire" by Claudio Monteverdi, "I Am Not Yours" by Z. Randall Stroope and "Villarosa Sarialdi," whose composer, Thomas Jennefelt, uses a language all his own, and the words have no meaning. It is written to resemble instrumental music.

The University Singers also will perform "Sure On This Shining Night" by Z. Randall Stroope and "Schicksalslied" by Johannes Brahms.

The University Chorale will be accompanied by Rudy Lupinski. Dr. Starla Hibler accompanies the University Singers.

Sopranos performing in both groups are Angie Brunk (ECU faculty), Carissa Rogers and Brooke Trail, Ada; Kathryn Burns, Coalgate; Brooke Geisler, Norman; Sheena Stallings, Shawnee; Aaron Sadler, Edmond; and Margret McConnell, Wellston. Sopranos in the University Singers are Sarah Barnes, Emily Briggs, Caitlin Gray and Abigail Seal Ada; Jessy Beasley, Calvin; Sara Morgan, Coalgate; Lacee Elliott, Davis; Brittany Lawson, Meeker; Maygan Howard, Chalie Smith and Laura Knight, Stratford; Kristin Stecklein, Vinita; and Kelli Clark, Wright City.

University Chorale sopranos are Victoria Davison, Danna Howry, Brittany Trail, Ada; Shay Standingwater, Tulsa; and Sharon Olds, Wellston.

Altos in both groups are Leah Creason, Beggs; Gretchen Reiswig, Purcell; and Casey Taylor, Bloomfield, N.M. Altos in the Chorale are Catie Caton and Caitlin Gray, Ada; and Christina Kushnick, Spiro.

Altos in the University Singers are Jennifer Whitley and Jessica Whitley, Ada; Darletta Hinds, Maud; Angela Marshall, McAlester; Ashley Green, Okmulgee; Meleah Underwood, Stratford; Jesslyn Richards, Wewoka; and Jamie Cothren and Katelan Gilley, Wynnewood.

Tenors singing in both groups are Chris Geisler, Little Axe; Antonio Gloria, Mustang; Joseph Mohr, Sayre; and Jesse Gordon, Seminole. Tenors only in the Chorale are Wyas Parker, Ada; and Zach Champagne, Tishomingo.

Tenors in the University Singers are David Houchin, Ada; Joseph Terrell, Elmore City; Matthew Geisler, Little Axe; Wesley Bradley, Marietta; Ryan Codopony, Noble; and Derek Reed, Pauls Valley.

Students in the bass section performing in both groups include Phillip Berryhill, Ada; Nick Geisler and Roy Harris, Little Axe; Jacob Stevens, McAlester; Tyler Brewer, Moore; Kaleb Gordon, Seminole; and Tim Long, Tecumseh.

Basses in the University Singers are Joe Trail, Ada; Johnothan Bomboy, Little Axe; Derek Akers and Tyson Blevins, Sulphur; Justin Cody and Tommy Long, Tecumseh; and Zach Champagne, Tishomingo. The Chorale's Bass Section also includes Luke Smith, Holdenville.
