Paul Harbin, commander of American Legion Post 72 in Ada, makes a surprise presentation to Mary Meeks, director of the Veterans Upward Bound Program at East Central University. He recently presented the program with a plaque listing the names of the VUB staff in recognition of their "countless hours helping veterans in preparation for their academic success." ECU's federally funded VUB Program, which also has an office at Cameron University in Lawton, helps prepare eligible veterans to enter or re-enter two- or four-year colleges or technical or vocational schools anywhere in the United States.
