Assistant Professor or Instructor of Art + Design : Media + Communication

The Position:
The Art + Design : Media + Communication department in the School of Fine Arts and College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at East Central University invites applications for an Assistant Professor or Instructor of Graphic Design to begin in August 2023.

The School of Fine Arts is committed to innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration. The successful candidate will teach courses within the Art curriculum that include, but are not limited to; Two-Dimensional Design, Principles of Graphic Design, Typography I, Typography II, Graphic Design I, Graphic Design II, Professional Practice, and Senior Exhibit. They may teach online or blended classes and will advise students. They will serve the university and the broader community. They should be able to lift and move commensurate with the skills being taught. The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences is committed to equity, diversity and inclusiveness, engaging students in active learning, and providing online instruction for adult learners. Additional duties may be required as needed.

Qualifications:
Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design or related field, Masters degrees are also considered at the Instructor level.

An interest in collaboration with colleagues in the School of Fine Arts will be considered an asset. Previous college level teaching experience preferred.
