Tiger Parent Guide

Welcome all Parents and Family,

First and foremost we want to assure you that while your student is here that they are our first priority. Whether it is fostering a learning environment in and out of the classroom, cultivating new interests in your student through campus life, or providing them with a delicious meal, we are dedicated to not only helping your student achieve their education goals but revel in their time at East Central University.

As a parent of a new or current ECU student, we want you to feel secure in knowing that your student is safe and well provided for while they are at ECU. We have campus police accessible to our students 24 hours a day year round. We provide a health services clinic where student are able to get things ranging from treatment of the common cold to preventative measures like Flu vaccinations. Your student can also visit our Counseling Center if they get homesick or are missing friends and family.

Resident Directors lives in each residence hall to help mentor and provide support during the transition from high school to college. Living in our residence halls provides your student the means to meet many new friends, share ideas and enjoy the day-to-day aspects of campus life.

We also want to encourage you to be a part of the ECU Tiger experience. Don’t hesitate to visit and catch one of our athletic events or stop by and grab lunch with your student. There is a true sense of family on the ECU campus and we want you to be a part of it.

We hope you'll take time to visit our beautiful campus and to learn more about us. We'll be happy to give a tour, provide additional information and help you discover excellence at East Central University.
