BEGINNING FRESHMEN CAN ENROLL AUG. 14 AT ECU

Regular walk-in enrollment for the fall semester at East Central University is underway until classes begin on Aug. 17 [MONDAY].

ECU RECEIVES $500,000 GRANT TO HELP VETS TRAIN FOR CIVILIAN JOBS

A new $500,000 grant has been awarded to East Central University to continue its Veterans Workforce Investment Program, this time with an emphasis on green energy jobs which require licenses and certifications.

ECU received one of 17 grants totaling more than $7.5 million from the U.S. Department of Labor to provide approximately 3,000 veterans with job training to help them succeed in civilian careers. ECU hopes to serve 160 eligible veterans in 2009-10.

ECU FRESHMAN NAMED GATES MILLENNIUM SCHOLAR

Hilary Sanchez, a 2009 graduate of Wetumka High School, has been named a Gates Millennium Scholar and will attend photo of Hilary SanchezEast Central University this fall.

ECU DANCE STUDENTS SPEND GRUELING WEEK WITH GUEST ARTIST

Six East Central University students have undergone a grueling week of eight- to 10-hour rehearsals this summer learning a new work choreographed by guest artist Chia-Chi Chang, a freelance performer, teacher, and choreographer.
