    Lance Distinguished Alum

    East Central University honored Bill G. Lance (center) as a 2014 Distinguished Alumnus during the ECU Foundation’s Evening of Honors and Recognition in May. Lance, of Sulphur, is the secretary of commerce for the Chickasaw Nation and is responsible for the management of all commercial business enterprises of the Chickasaw Nation. Also pictured are ECU President John R. Hargrave and Elizabeth Vezina, president of the ECU Alumni Association.

    Bertha Teague Mid America Classic Distinguished Service

    East Central University honored the annual Bertha Frank Teague Mid-America Girls’ Basketball Classic with the 2014 Distinguished Service Award during the ECU Foundation’s Evening of Honors and Recognition. The classic, played each year in late December, features outstanding girls’ high school basketball teams. ECU President John R.     Bruce Bonar

    Bruce Bonar (center) accepts the 2014 Distinguished Family Award on behalf of the Bonar-Martin families from East Central University President John R.     ADA – The board of directors for the Accreditation Council for Business Schools Programs has granted East Central University’s Harland C. Stonecipher School of Business continued accreditation for 10 years.

    ADA - Learning how to help people resolve conflicts and move on with their lives can be very rewarding, according to a group of volunteers who do just that.

    Each year dozens of Oklahomans agree to give their time and energy to become a volunteer mediator through the Early Settlement Mediation Program. Garvin County is seeking additional volunteer mediators to assist with both community- and court-related disputes.
