    Becky Gallup Payton

    East Central University honored Becky Gallup Payton (center) as a 2014 Distinguished Alumna at the ECU Foundation’s Evening of Honors and Recognition in May. Ms. Gallup Payton is regional vice president of human resources for Mercy Health Systems in Oklahoma and a 1976 graduate of ECU. Also pictured are ECU President John R.     Danley Distinguished Former Faculty

    East Central University honored the late Dr. James O. Danley with the 2014 Distinguished Former Faculty Award at the ECU Foundation’s Evening of Honors and Recognition in May. Also pictured are: (left to right) Phyllis Danley, executive director of the ECU Foundation and daughter of James; Dr. Nick Cheper, professor and chair of ECU’s biology department; Forrest Danley, son of James; and ECU President John R. Hargrave. Dr. James O. Danley served as professor of mathematics and dean of graduate studies at ECU and was mayor of Ada.

    Lance Distinguished Alum

    East Central University honored Bill G. Lance (center) as a 2014 Distinguished Alumnus during the ECU Foundation’s Evening of Honors and Recognition in May. Lance, of Sulphur, is the secretary of commerce for the Chickasaw Nation and is responsible for the management of all commercial business enterprises of the Chickasaw Nation.     Bertha Teague Mid America Classic Distinguished Service

    East Central University honored the annual Bertha Frank Teague Mid-America Girls’ Basketball Classic with the 2014 Distinguished Service Award during the ECU Foundation’s Evening of Honors and Recognition. The classic, played each year in late December, features outstanding girls’ high school basketball teams. ECU President John R.     Bruce Bonar
