    Josh Eaker was saving up $8,000 to go to school to become a professional hunting guide in Wyoming, New Mexico and Colorado. He had quit his job as a welder before deer hunting season began last year so he could start hunting full time.

    East Central University's tradition continues for having high percentages of its pre-med graduates accepted into medical schools. Four former students are in their first year at the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, part of the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Science in Tulsa, and one, Caleb Wingo, is in his first year at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine.

    The East Central University Art for Secondary Teachers class, as part of project SOAP (Student Outreach Art Project), and the Ada Arts and Heritage Center will present a series of free art classes for elementary students at the Ada Arts and Heritage Center on April 7, 14, 21 and 30.

    Students from Miami and Muldrow High Schools were the top winners in the Oklahoma State Science and Engineering Fair held March 25-27 at East Central University in Ada.

    Miami High School's Ban He, a senior, and Jennifer Spillars,a sophomore, received the $500 Best of Fair Award in the Senior High Division for their team project, "Evaluating Novel Methods for Reversing the Denaturation Process in Catalase."

    The Moore High School Wind Symphony will join the East Central University Wind Ensemble at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday [MARCH 30] for a concert in the Ataloa Theatre in ECU's Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center.

    Marc Mueller will conduct the Moore High School Wind Symphony in "Colorado Peaks" by Dana Wilson, "Aurora Awakes" by John Mackey and "Eljen A Magyar!!" by Johann Strauss.

    An opportunity to experience the unique sounds of So Percussion, an internationally known ensemble whose improvised instruments sometimes are associated more with plumbing supplies, will be available at 7:30 p.m. April 10 [SATURDAY] at East Central University.

    So Percussion will perform in the Ataloa Theatre in the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center.
